What a crazy weather day! This morning on the way to church the weather was beautiful and it felt like spring! After all of the snow we've had, I happily hopped and skipped my way to church. A quick glance out the window during Relief Society and I noticed the wind had really picked up. Sigh...it had been so beautiful, but alas, it would not last. We walked home and I could see the black clouds rolling over the mountain. Almost as soon as we got inside it started pouring! The rain eventually turned to snow and it rained and snowed off and on all afternoon and evening. Thankfully, the snow isn't sticking, though I haven't looked outside in a few hours.
The big fun was that our power went out about 5 times! The longest was for about 20 minutes and I used it as my excuse to light the candles I didn't get to use on Valentine's day! After all...we can't really just sit in the dark, right? :)
What do you do when the power goes off and the light outside is fading? Why, the only thing you want to do is read, of course!
I'm glad I decided not to make dinner tonight after all . Turns out the pilot light in our gas stove runs with electricity and my dinner would have been ruined! No such excuse tomorrow night...

Hmmm...on my computer the pictures weren't this dark! I'll have to work on lightening them up. :)
Awww..I just love reading your blogs! They are so YOU! I miss your sparkling personality! :) Candlelight looked way fun, but my favorite was Valentine's Day and the "romantic" gifts you gave eachother! So fun! I'm with ya on the making holidays big...Justin is the worst holiday celebrater EVER so I am working on him but I think he will take awhile to crack...I'm glad you had a good V-day! Love ya!
How fun that you get to have Jake nearby! That's fun to have the power go out occasionally isn't it?
Hey Heidi! I saw your blog link & just had to say HI! How are you doing? Looks like you are doing great-from your pics & posts. It has been a long time, but I am so happy to see that you are doing GREAT! We'll have to keep in touch, through blogs at least:)
So funny. Those boys are SO studious and spiritual. :) Love it.
By the way, I think of you when I hear or sing the song It Might as Well be Spring.
Heidi- SO good to bump into you via the world wide web. I sure love the Butlers! Jake and your husband looke like missionaries in a thrid world country studying by candlelight due to no electricity... :). Good to see you having fun and looking happy!
heidi! I found your blog! How fun :) And by the way, I totally agree w/ you about the whole "the holiday is as big as you want to make it" sort of thing. I spent 4+ hours the night before V-Day making amazingcookes (yes, one word), and you can bet that we will be eating any and all things green next Monday. :)
Glad to hear you're well!
